Year 6 Mrs Yarwood & Mrs Ashford Eaton/Mrs Hodgkinson 2021 - 2022
Hello and welcome to the year 6 page. We’re Mrs Yarwood, Mrs Hodgkinson and Mrs Ashford Eaton, alongside our teaching assistants Mrs Robinson and Mrs Watson - we love working at Mossley and see it as a real privilege to work in year 6, sharing the last year with our children before they move on to pastures new. We will always aim to push the children in our classes to be the best that they can be, and make some special memories whilst we are at it!
Year 6 is all about further developing a positive attitude towards learning. We celebrate individuality, encourage confidence and foster independence. We hope that our children have a memorable and fun-filled experience during their time in year 6.

General (multiple subjects):
Learn together Cambridgeshire - This is an excellent website that has compiled all of the useful home learning websites in one place. It has links for English, Maths, Science, PE and much more.
Classroom Secrets – They have provided age appropriate packs for children to access from home. Just follow the links from their homepage.
Twinkl – As above, follow the link from the homepage to access the content.
My Maths – Children have been reminded about this website and shown how to access the content. There is no need for their individual logins; just use the school login to access hundreds of online lessons.
White Rose Maths – They are providing daily lessons for children to access. Each lesson has a video, and then a worksheet to practise and apply their knowledge. There is even an answer sheet (children have been reminded that they only look at this once they have completed the work).
Once upon a Picture – This is a brilliant website that provides countless pictures that children can use as a writing stimulus. Each image is accompanied by a list of questions that lead to some interesting writing opportunities.
Literacy Shed – This may need a small amount of supervision. The free content is easily accessible (you won’t be able to access the literacy shed + content as this is premium; you’ll need an account). Each shed will cover a different genre. Once there, you will see a range of short videos that act as a writing stimulus. There are also some excellent teaching ideas alongside, suggesting possible writing tasks. These may need a short explanation so that children understand what the final product might look like.
