Year 3 visit Church and Baptize the class baby, by Mrs Knibbs

Date: 29th Mar 2017 @ 1:28pm

We went to Church and met the vicar who taught us about Baptizm and how you have water put on your head in a cross and you say a prayer. We held baby Bob so he could be baptized, this allows him to be welcomed into the Christian faith (but, you can still be a Christian if you have not been baptized) It also allows God to forgive you when you are older.

Report written by Dad aka Teague Forward Martin and Mum aka Lillia Barnett

We were the Godparents and so got to sit at the front of the Church, we baptized two baby dolls, and we looked for our names in Jesus' handbook, if we had been baptized then our names would be in the book. We found a few of the children's names in our class. We got taught all about what the vicar has to prepare for a baptism and we really enjoyed our roles as Godparents.

Year 4 Experiment with eggs, by Mrs Knibbs

Date: 3rd Feb 2017 @ 3:00pm

In science, we tested how different liquids reacted to our teeth we used eggshells to represent our teeth. We soaked eggs in different liquids for 1 week. The different liquids we used were coke, milk, water, orange juice and vinegar. The water made the egg shell turn a darker but didn't change the egg inside. The coke and vinegar cracked the eggshell and turned it a darker colour. We now know that coke and vinegar are not good for our teeth. The orange juice made the eggshell really slippery. We really enjoyed learning about the effect different things have on our teeth. Report written by Ella Knibbs year 4

Year 6 Volcanoes, by Mrs Knibbs

Date: 3rd Feb 2017 @ 11:50am

For the last week, we have been designing a 3d volcano. The materials we used were as follows:Paint (a lot of it); newspaper and kitchen roll; a plastic bottle and tape. We have been screwing the newspapeer into balls and sticking them together with PVA glue around the plastic bottle. Then we covered it with kitchen roll. After that, we painted it with either grey, brown or black paint for the base colour. We then dry brushed, which is one of the new techniques we used, and highlighted the parts that stuck out giving it a more realistic touch. We then made it drip with red and yellow paint for the lava. This has been a very fun experience and we hope to do it again. Report written by Jack Walker, Noah Negus and Ellis Statham Year 6. Watch this space for the next stage..........
