"They shall have life, life in all its fullness." (John 10:10)

Snow Day 19.1.23

Hi,

We hope that you are all safe and well.  We have provided the following lessons for the children to do at home today whilst school is closed.

English - We have been reading the text "The Day the war came".  The children can look at the video links from the powerpoint and imagine what it would be like to be in a refugee camp.  There is an example of a description of a refugee camp on the powerpoint that they can read through and maybe try to improve.  They can then have a go at writing their own description of a refugee camp trying to include colons(and other punctuation) effectively, emotive language and cohesive devices.  The powerpoint can be found in the files to download section.

Maths - The children can go throught the powerpoint and then complete the workeet on ratio problems.  The answers are also provided.  These can be found in the files downloaded section.

Geography - Yesterday we had a presentation from Mr and Mrs Swindells about North America.  They talked about the different countries that they had visited and the difference in biomes.  We also saw some pictures of different animals that live in different parts of the continent.  Can the children write down any new facts that they found out about North America?

PE - As you are aware today would have been our PE lesson.  Please feel free to get some exercise out in the snow.  Have fun!!!
