Children in Reception, Year 1 & 2 have had an amazing time in their creative builders workshop. They have learnt all about the Queen's Jubilee; famous London landmarks; the origin of Lego and it's history. They have developed their team work and problem solving skills

We have had a great day raising funds for comic relief, we all wore something red or patterned, had a fabulous cake sale and held a head and spoon race.

Jingle Bell Jog raises £3743.75 for East Cheshire Hospice, by Mrs Knibbs

Following on from our Jingle Bell Jog in December the money has been counted and we have received our certificate of thanks for raising a whopping £3743.75. The children had so much fun taking part and we are over whelmed by the generosity of thier sponsors.

Year 1 have been searching for our resident 'Bog Baby' who lives in our school woods. They have created their own version of the Bog Baby and designed an ideal habitat.

Year 1 had a fantastic time during their creative build day. They see Lego, we see architects; builders; surveyors; town planners and much more. What an incredible day!

Year 1 got to see many different artefacts from WW1. They learnt about how the gas mask worked; what tank masks were made from and how jam bombs were created. They also learnt how the pigeon was used to send messages. They received some visitors who explained different items from the war.

Year 1 had a great time looking at Stafford Castle as part of their castle topic work. They tried on outfits fit for kings and queens, used weapons and learnt all about how the people could protect themselves if they were ever faced with an invasion.

Year 1 look at Great Britain and plot castle, by Mrs Knibbs

Year 1 topic is all about Castles. They have reseached where different castles are situated and spent time plotting them on the map of Great Britain. Initially their accuracy was a little out, but after using the ipads to research each castle and where it was situated they did an amazing job of accurately plotting them.

All of the children had a fantastic hands on learning experience at Stafford Castle. They made lavender bags and did some traditional coin printing.
Year 1 looks for the Bog Baby, by Mrs Knibbs

There is something occuring in Year 1, it is the Bog Baby. Who is the Bog Baby? Where does it come from? Who has seen it? What does it look like? Can we talk about it or is it a secret?
The children have searched the school for the Bog baby, they took a look in our outside classroom where it was last spotted by Mr Nixon.
The children were visited by Secret Agent Know It All, who they fiercely quizzed to gain more information about the Bog Baby.
They created clay Bog Babies.

The Year 1 children were very lucky, they had some very talented volunteers come to visit. They were taught how to sew and made puppets which was in keeping with their class topic.
