Educational Visits

Educational Visits

We believe in providing our pupils with a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes their spiritual, moral, cultural and physical development, and prepares them for the opportunities and experiences of adult life. To enrich the curriculum for our children, we offer a range of educational visits and other activities that enhance and enrich what they learn in school. Each year our pupils have the opportunity to attend an educational visit linked to their curriculum theme. Here are a few examples:

· Holland/Paris residential – Year 6

· Snowdon residential – Year 4

· Mossfest (school camping) residential – Year 2/3 & 5

· Jodrell Bank

· Biddulph Grange Country Park

· Tittersworth

· Daneside Theatre

· Congleton library

· Chester Zoo

· Choir sing at Heliosa

· Congleton Museum

· Mossley church

· Eaton Bank academy

All educational visits and activities support and enrich the work we do in school. There are also a number of people who visit the school to support our work. We also have regular visits from our neighbourhood police officer and health and safety workers. These visits support the personal, social and health education of our children. Here are just a few of the visitors we have welcomed to Mossley CE Primary School in the past.

· Starlab

· Fiona Cuthill – Dentist

· Extreme Bike Show – Danny Butler

· Bikability

· Bug Day – Reptile Experience

· Open the Book

· Tom Makin-Bell – CHAPS (Cheshire Autism practical Support)

· Local PCSO

From Year 2, our pupils have the opportunity to take part in residential experiences. Our Year 2, 3 and 5 pupils are invited to attend an onsite activity residential for one night camping at school fondly known as 'Mossfest'. In Year 4 the pupils attend an activity residential for two nights in Snowdon. In Year 6, our pupils are invited to attend the Holland residential. The residential visits enable our pupils to take part in outdoor and adventure activities as part of their PE curriculum. We undertake these visits only with agreement of the governing body and the LEA. All specialist activities are undertaken with qualified instructors.
