Early Years Foundation Stage Mrs Arnold & Mrs Swift 2023 - 2024
Hello and Welcome to Reception!
We are the Mossley Reception team Mrs Arnold and Mrs Swift and our lovely teaching assistants Mrs Fox, Miss Bailey and Mrs Dale.
Mrs Swift: I have two children called Harry and Sophie. I am a big Liverpool fan and have a cat called Whiskers. I absolutely love teaching in Reception because it is fun and the children learn so much in their time with us. We love playing inside and outside and getting mucky. I have been an EYFS and Year 2 teacher and I have been the Assistant Headteacher of Mossley for 7 years. I love my job!
Mrs Arnold: I love being in Reception. It is the brilliant because we learn about so many fun things. I have two beautiful daughters called Penelope and Bonnie. In my spare time I love spending time with my family and friends.
Mrs Fox: I am the cheeky one of the team and I am always up to mischief! I have two girls called Amber and Maisie and they like to keep me busy driving them to and from dancing. I love being with friends and family and am parital to a little bit of interior design. I have worked at Mossley for twenty years (even though I know I look 21) and I love planning fun learning opportunties. I am very creative and love a good sing-song.
Miss Bailey: I have been a Teaching Assistant for 5 years now and we have so much fun in Reception. I love to ride horses and have a beautiful horse called Ferdi. I ride at National level and am proud of all of my achievements. I also like to bake goodies and that goes down well on a Friday. At school I like to play outside with the children and being in the woods is great as we get to explore.
Mrs Dale: I have been at Mossley for 20 years and have loved every minute of it. The children are such a pleasure to be around! When I am not at school I keep myself busy and love gardening and open water swimming

Children's first year in school (Reception class) is the final year of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which children will have begun in Nursery, pre-school or with their childminder.
Our EYFS classrooms provides learning for sixty children. Staffed by two teachers and two teaching assistants, it provides a good adult/child ratio. Spacious and well resourced indoor and outdoor spaces enable the seven areas of learning to be provided inside and outside. This provides a favourable staffing ratio and environment for 60 children. We love Welly Wednesday or Forest Friday where can put our wellies on and have fun in our woodland.
On this page you will find our policy, Long Term Plan and other information that you may find useful.
In Reception we use the Primary Knowledge Curriculum to help us to plan an exciting year where the children make excellent progress. Please have a look at our Long Term Plan 2023-2024.
We use Class Dojo as a way to share WOW moments with our families and the children love uploading their home learning into their portfolios.
Don't forget to have a look under the Curriculum tab on our Mossley page to find out a little bit more about all things EYFS.
