Reading For Pleasure
At Mossley, we highly value the importance of reading for pleasure. Every Thursday, all year groups take part in a reading for pleasure session in school.
These take various forms, such as:
- Hot chocolate and biscuit whilst reading
- Making reading dens
- Reading buddies (joining with another year group)
- Reading in the woods
- Book blankets
- Reading rivers
- Listening to audio books
- Bring in a teddy/blanket
- Free choice of what to read
- Creating art work based on reading
- Reading café with recommendations of books from peers or staff
- Parent visits for reading
