Santa Steam Train - Churnett Valley
Class: Early Years Foundation Stage Mrs Arnold & Mrs Swift Year: 2015 - 2016
Choo, choo, choo what a 'chuffing' great day we had at Churnet Valley Steam Railway yesterday!
We were very excited to be on the coaches next to our friends and safely seatbelted up singing 'The Wheels on the Bus'. Our singing soon changed to Christmas songs as we arrived at Churnet Valley and saw the huge steam train. Two of the station masters greeted us in very smart clothing and friendly smiles We were all shown to our seats and eagerly awaited our picnic!!! ;-) Happily eating our scrumptious lunch we were entertained by a very funny clown and the 'balloon' man who made us all an animal shaped balloon, nearly all of them survived too! We also had the staff on the train offer us a fruit shoot and a chocolate lollipop
Suddenly guess who apeared?!?!?!?!??!......Hohohoho........Father Christmas xx He was wonderful and very kind to give us all a special present each , we were so excited and happy, he even told us he has read our letters!!!!
The journey home was much more subdued as some of us decided that with all the excitement we needed a nap while the rest of us carried on singing our favourite christmas songs especially from 'The Little Nativity'. An amazing day to remember and we all promised Santa that we would carry on being as well behaved as we had been all day, Miss Holland, Mrs Marlow, Mrs Teagle and all the staff who helped us were super proud too
